14 Days Until Camp Opens

With less than a calendar month to go before baseball begins to smell new again we wanted to spend each day going through some of the best performances in 2016. Using game WPA for 15 starting pitcher and hitter performances we hope to be able to take you on a trip down memory lane each day.

From a pitcher’s perspective, boring can be a good thing. This was a pretty boring game. Brad Miller drove a two-run homer off of Christian Friedrich in the first, and that was literally the only run-scoring event. The biggest reason was due to Archer going full Terminator. He pitched into the 8th before being lifted after a scratch single with the middle of the order coming up. Nine strikeouts to one walk is pretty good. Same with the four hits allowed. All singles.

Brooks shows equal usage and dominance out of the fastball and slider on the day, but isn’t it more fun to just watch? I think so.

Nice to hear Neil on the highlights. Hopefully more of that to come in the future.
