17 Days Until Camp Opens

With less than a calendar month to go before baseball begins to smell new again we wanted to spend each day going through some of the best performances in 2016. Using game WPA for 15 starting pitcher and hitter performances we hope to be able to take you on a trip down memory lane each day.

Wow, what a game. The Rays would not emerge victorious, but it’s hard to fault Corey Dickerson and his three doubles on the day. Guy had a huge game, but just wait until you get to the ninth for all the floors of the emotional elevator. Mikie puts one up in Pujols-land to go ahead, but the Alex Colome would allow two of his six homers on the year in back to back fashion to give the Astros the walk-off. Hot, nasty power is hard to beat. I love Dickerson’s last double in the clip as it’s just a rocket shot that no outfielder ever would have a chance on. People get down on the big swing, but he transfers power like Obama, and there is no defense for when he connects.
