If you shouldn’t bring a knife to a gunfight, then you best believe that you’re going to want some sluggers for a slugfest. Luckily, the Rays have one of the best in the game. This stretch represented the hill standing between a relatively deep valley and the bottomless pit that was the 3-24 stretch, but for a few days the Rays were red hot. It all starts and ends with Evan Longoria. He hit two bombs in this game, his fourth and fifth in four games. He was joined by recent Rays re-signee Logan Morrison how hit his third and fourth homers in the last three games.

In addition to the two homers Evan also worked in a walk and drove in an insurance run in the ninth with a single. Pretty good day all around, and nice to see the Rays walk away with a win against the league’s worst team. Can’t wait to see more displays of power like this stretch right here.
