Game 5 Lineups and Outlooks

The Rays come into this series with the Orioles with a sizable advantage on the mound in each of these next three games. While this is something we should get used to, regardless of the opponent this year, the O’s have some special kind of starters on tap. Tonight’s offering, Chris Tillman, represents their best chance to put up a fight. He’ll take on the North Carolina Buzzsaw, Chris Archer. Archie got off to a rough start in his debut against the Blue Jays, but was able to settle in, grab 12 strikeouts, and keep the team in the game. Archie needs to avoid that one inning where he can’t throw the fastball where he wants to turn into a run-fest. Do that and I like our chances against what is a really good lineup. In the Rays favor is the news that Adam Jones will miss tonight with the rest of the series up in the air. Here’s the preview:

Rays 4-8

The Rays are solidly the favorite tonight and Vegas sees it the same way. Dang, those folks are good at what they do. Don’t let Chris Davis beat you and this looks like one that the Rays should be able to control from the outset.
