Game 52 Lineups and Outlook
The platform. It beckons. It calls to you to take a short walk. No one is looking. Prepare yourself for the leap of faith. You squat down. Contemplating. No. Don’t think. Just do. As you collect what will be your last thoughts you spot a child. More of a toddler than anything. She’s wearing a Rays hat. Her smile melts your will. Maybe tomorrow.
They system sees the Rays as a solid favorite tonight, but of course it knows little about the Sheikra-esque ride that has been the Chris Archer experience this year. Danny Duffy is a similar sort. Forget command, he struggles to show control, then whips a mid-90’s fastball right where he wants. Unfortunately, for him, he’s a Southpaw and the Rays have already broken that code. I side strongly with the system today, Vegas be damned.
A few changes to note here. Chris Young has been moved out of the pen and into the rotation with Peter Moylan taking his place. The Rays are back to a four-man bench with Tim Beckham replacing the extraneous reliever as Boxberger is headed back to the disabled list for being an idiot and thinking he’s above medical science. Hell hath no fury like a rushed rehab.
