Game #71 Lineups and Outlook
After the much-needed day off the Rays head from Cleveland to another failing city as they prepare for a four games in three days series in Baltimore. The rock has officially sunk to the bottom of the pool so it’s probably time to start thinking about next year. If that means losing a whole bunch of games, well dammit, let’s lose a whole bunch of games. The outfield is ready. On that topic the Rays traded nothing for Oswaldo Arcia when the Twins felt jammed up by his lack of an option. He should really help the Rays lose some games going forward both at the plate and in the field.
Vegas like the Orioles a whole heck of a lot today and the system thinks they’re being generous. Gallardo is back off the disabled list so I fully expect him to go at least eight while yielding two or fewer. I doubt Moore will be able to match him. Their lineup is glorious with few holes now that Hardy is back. They’re a really good team and they deserve all of their success.
Add in that they have a bevy of very good arms getting used judiciously by the best manager in the game and I don’t see how the Rays have a chance. They also have a very good bench filled with guys that can hit for power and average. Should be fun.
