Game #92 Lineups and Outlook

Bienvenuto! YOUR 2016 Tampa Bay Rays will be getting their Rocky Mountain High on as they trek to Denver to take on the Rockies. Mr. Kevin Cash and the rest of the team will need to be on their toes to skirt these mysterious rules used in the Senior Circuit. With pitchers hitting the Rays will have a five-man bench, though the Rockies have turned their fifth guy into an extra bullpen arm.

The Rockies look like the stronger team on paper and the degens would agree as they have perfectly matched the model in expectations. The two lefties can act for clemency from this park, but they’ll be unlikely to get it. I’d expect a high-scoring affair with multiple lead changes and short-lived starters. Getting Smyly to go twice through the order while limiting the damage should be considered a win. The Rays lefties look to have pretty poor matchups against the unheralded, yet effective rookie Tyler Anderson.

If the bullpens are in for a long day then I think I like theirs better. They have a number of very good arms from each side and it will be interesting to watch Ottavino now that he is back from Tommy John rehab. It was nice to see Alex Colome strike out the side yesterday, and it sure would be nice to see him do it again to nail down a save.
