Game #97 Lineups and Outlook
I think I fell asleep sometime in the 8th and then finally went to bed after waking up in the 11th yesterday. What a barn burner when you watch two teams arguing calls all night while providing little to no offense. I’d expect a bit more today with Drew “Homers4All” Smyly and Kendall “EvenMoreHomers” Graveman.
The model sees the Rays as a slight favorite today, though not quite as strongly as the gamblers see them. I’d stay away here much like I hope Smyly will do with Danny Valencia. Other than the righty masher that has killed the Rays all year the rest of the lineup presents few strengths to worry much about. The Rays lefties look like good plays today with only Curt Casali presenting a true weak spot.
Oakland had to call up Bruce Maxwell to make his debut as Stephen Vogt has a family issue. This should be a positive development for the Rays as Vogt is a tough hitter, which means Maxwell is probably going to hit a homer today off of the bench.
