McDaniel: Rays Tied to Adrian Rondon

Although July 2 is months away, the Rays are already being mentioned in connection with one top international prospect.

According to Scout’s Kiley McDaniel, executives believe Dominican shortstop Adrian Rondon has a deal in place, with the Rays being fingered as the suspected team. As is the case with most of the top international  amateurs, Rondon projects as a potential future big-league regular. He is expected to remain at shortstop long-term, and has shown signs of being able to produce with the bat.
