Rays Sign Jeremy Moore | The Process Report

Rays Sign Jeremy Moore

The Rays have signed outfielder Jeremy Moore to a minor-league deal, according to Matt Eddy of Baseball America.

Not long ago, Moore was a well-regarded prospect in the Angels system. Unfortunately, the former four-sport athlete has struggled to find his way after missing 2012 due to hip surgery. In the past, Moore offered a wide range of tools—including good speed and average power—though his overall package led scouts to project him as a future extra outfielder. It might be silly to think about September seven months ahead of time but, should Moore stick with the organization, he could serve as a pinch-runner when rosters expand.

Moore’s addition likely diminishes the chances of Sam Fuld returning.
