Scott Kazmir Isn’t Doing So Hot

This comes from Mike DiGiovanna:

Kazmir, who spent a month in extended spring training in hopes of finding a consistent delivery and release point, has given up 23 earned runs in 13 2/3 innings of his four starts with 16 walks and 13 strikeouts for a 15.15 earned-run average.

DiGiovanna speculates the Angels will release Kazmir at some point, and who knows where the former ace’s career will head from there.

Here are some other links to consider:

– Ryan Glass took a look at the Rays minor leaguers for the month of May.

– Jason Hanselman looked at how Rays pitchers are faring once they get to two-strike counts.

– Some executives Jon Heyman talked to think the Rays had a strong draft.

  1. I hate to laugh at someone else’s bad fortune but the Rays really kicked ass on the Kazmir trade.
