Rays Select Granden Goetzman and Lenny Linsky in Round Two

Granden Goetzman is a toolsy high school outfielder out of Palmetto High School. I profiled him a bit last week, but he is an athletic outfielder with power, speed, and arm to blow. Baseball America threw out the term “prodigious” about Goetzman’s power, and he has drawn comparisons to Jay Buhner and Jayson Werth. His swing is quick and his bat speed is legit. Here is a video of Goetzman hitting dingers. Baseball America had Goetzman as the 52nd best prospect in the draft.

Leonardo/Lenny Linsky is a college closer from Hawaii. His fastball sits in the low-to-mid 90s with good sink and his slider is also a plus. Linsky is on display in this video from March. He is a little beefier than you may expect and his arm angle is often described as lower three-quarters. Baseball America had Linsky as the 81st best prospect in the draft.
