Three More Draft Prospects

C.J. Cron’s name has been tossed around here before. He has baseball in his blood (his cousin is Chad Moeller) and is the type of college bat you’d love to add to the system. Nearly all of Cron’s value is tied to his ability to hit, though, as he isn’t much of a runner or fielder.

Granden Goetzman is a toolsy high schooler with a commitment to Florida Gulf Coast—in other words, he shouldn’t be as difficult to sign. An attendee of Palmetto High School, Goetzman’s Baseball America write-up includes comparisons to Jayson Werth and Jay Buhner and has the phrase “prodigious power”.

Similarly, Johnny Eierman is a toolsy outfielder from Missouri who has a commitment to Louisiana State University. Keith Law had Eierman heading to St. Pete in his most recent mock draft and the outfielder certainly fits the bill as he has blazing speed and good bat speed that combines to make a high ceiling.
