Strengths (2009-2013):

  • Very tough to strikeout: His 11.3% strikeout rate is in the top 10th percentile
  • Very good at putting the ball in play: His 51% rate is in the top 10th percentile
  • Doesn’t expand his strikezone: His overall chase rate is in the top 20th percentile while his rate against lefties is in the top 10th percentile
  • His .357 wOBA on pitches out of the strike zone is in the top 10th percentile
  • Does most of his damage against pitches in the upper half of the strike zone. His .347 wOBA is better than 65% of the league.
  • Split neutral: .326 wOBA vs LH, .316 wOBA vs RH

Weaknesses (2009-2013):

  • His .377 slugging percentage is in the bottom third of the league
  • His .302 wOBA on pitches in the strike zone is in the bottom 30th percentile
  • His .410 slugging percentage on pitches in the strike zone is in the bottom 25th percentile
  • Has only played more than 145 games just once in the past five seasons
  • Is just 23 of 37 (62%) in his stolen base attempts
